Graves Wilson previously posted on the attention foreclosure issues have (finally!) gotten in the South Carolina legislature.
Since then, my friend an colleague, Columbia bankruptcy attorney, Lex Rogerson, indicated that he’s sent various clients to the South Carolina Home Ownership and Employment Lending Program via scmortgagehelp.net for their mortgage and foreclosure issues. As part of that process, he obtained a list of participating and non-participating servicers. You might think of the “bank” or “lender” as the one who makes the decisions regarding your mortgage loan. However, the servicers really call the shots. The servicer is the company who manages or services the loan for the investor, the real “owner” of the mortgage note.
Here’s the list of participants: SC HELP Participating and Non participating Servicers. If you can’t work something out with this program, call us and we’ll see if we can help you. Remember this: never ignore a foreclosure complaint even if you are being considered for mortgage modification or other foreclosure alternatives.
